Welcome to SOVIETGUITARS.COM, the one-stop-shop for everything related to the electric guitars and basses made in the Soviet Union and the Eastern Bloc countries (particularly, Eastern Germany, Czechoslovakia and Bulgaria) in the period spanning roughly the early 1960’s to the early 1990’s. This site brings together the international community of hardcore collectors and top-notch luthiers, buyers and sellers, the curious and the suspicious, whose interest and expertise revolve around the exhilarating search for the truth about the instruments made behind the Iron Curtain with little and, in some cases, no interaction with the western guitar-making philosophies and practices.

The website has been active in Russian since summer 2006 and has by now gathered so much momentum and interest that it has been decided by the community to launch it in English. Please stand by while the English content is being added. In the meantime, feel free to register and browse the tremendous wealth of information available both in Articles and Forum!
